Granola Recipe

Quick and easy but delicious granola (from Bread Becker’s)

1 stick butter

1/2 cup honey

4 cups rolled oats

Melt together butter and honey. If you boil the honey and butter for about a minute before adding the rest of ingredients, the granola will clump together more. Pour over oats and stir well to coat.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Stir and bake 5 more minutes if desired. We use this for cold cereal.

This is the base of the recipe. I like to add about 1/4-1/2 cup nuts, 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut and about 3/4 cups raisins to the oats before baking or add raisins after baking if desired. Experiment by adding spices such as cinnamon or vanilla to the butter honey mixture. Be creative! I add 1/4-1/2 cup flax seed to the liquid mixture as well as the nuts and raisins to give it a nice coating. I also have been adding a few extra tablespoons of honey and butter so that it’s not so dry. Enjoy!
